"Goodness Gracious"
16.1 Hand Bay Filly
Foal of 2009
October 23, 2011
Gracie will soon be heading to her new mom's farm in Alabama where she'll have the next several months to continue maturing before really "starting school" as a three year old. I think the jury's still out as far as her chosen vocation, but regardless of what it is, we know for sure that this attractive, athletic, HUGE filly will go far.
All of us at A Pinch of Luck will miss having Gracie and her Labrador Retriever personality in the barn, but are so happy that she, too, finally has a person of her very own!

All that was heard as Gracie came off "The Truck" was "goodness gracious" at the sight of this beautiful filly on the bus bound for nowhere good... Needless to say she didn't get back on. Gracie got her barn name from Corrie, one of A Pinch of Luck's young riders, who was at the barn the night she arrived. As we had her standing in the cross ties in the barn, Corrie informed us all that her name was Gracie.... and it stuck.
She may be a plain brown wrapper, but she rides like a couch and has a wonderful demeanor under saddle in spite of her young years. If anything, she's in no hurry to go anywhere. Gracie will be ridden lightly while with us (unless for some reason she sticks around well past her fourth birthday!) just to keep her skills up--I'm not a huge fan of putting babies into hard work, so I see light trail riding in her immediate future!
This beautiful filly, who will for sure grow to even greater heights than her already imposing 16.1 hands, came to us with no history and no tattoo--it's one of the hardest things about taking babies off "The Truck." Her history is known only to her and the people who decided to send her down the road. Paperwork or no, the quality of her breeding is more than evident--she is definitely a "class horse!"
