Braintree, who we have decided to call Aspen (because we love his racing name SO much....) arrived this evening from The Truck.  He's a very handsome blood bay with an attractive white blaze that narrows to a point between his nostrils and a few low white socks.  

He's kind and quiet, and though pretty shaken up by his rough ride up from Florida, he settled quietly and relished attention in spite of himself.  Aspen started in only one race and retired in 2010 with a sad earnings record of just  under $200 in two starts.  My kind of race horse!  He's reportedly kind and quiet under saddle, and should be a great amateur or young rider's horse.
