Colby has begun his retraining, and is doing great.  We worried about him a bit in the beginning because he seemed overwhelmed with his new life.  Well...  That's all changed!  He's enjoying flat work now, and has started over cavaletti and small fences.  He's still green, but he's willing, and he really enjoys working.

He raced through a seven season career and retired with close to $86,000 in earnings from his eighty one starts, averaging a $1,000 paycheck every time he went to the starting gate.  His legs show no wear at all from his long career, and his mind seems good.  He takes everything in and is worldly in his confidence--he's seen a lot in his ten years!

Colby is on his way to Alabama with his new friend Savanah.  They are going to work together towards Colby's new career as a young rider horse in the hunter division.  We hope to hear great things!
