Though never officially taken off the market, we've kept mum on Echo's progress because he has been earmarked for a special teenager who was hoping to board at the farm.  Sadly for them both, things haven't come together as we'd hoped they would, and Echo has once again found himself fully on the hunt for a special person of his own.

Echo has been working only once a week since February 5th, and is progressing well with his retraining.  He's done some work over crossrails and low verticals, and really enjoys the time he spends under saddle.  This wonderful guy has so much to offer his new person:  he's game and willing, and is up for any task.  He's uncomplicated and kind, and should excel in any discipline.  He's a top-knotch gelding in every respect, and so very, very much deserves his own person to grow with.  Over the last two months, he's proven over and over again that with very limited riding, that he can come out consistently the same kind, sweet, horse over and over again.  Who could ask for  more than that?

Echo has now had five rides since his arrival and had his first two visitors today.  He's been ridden in the ring and in the field and is a gentleman everywhere he goes.  He relishes attention and politely takes it all in, no matter what's going on around him.  He rides well alone or in the company of ten plus horses (and any number in between), and is always willing to do as he's asked.  He has also demonstrated incredible willingness to improve his performance, and is an excellent pupil.

This wonderful horse has so much to offer his new person--he's bright, friendly, and kind.  What more could anyone ask for!

Echo came to us this afternoon from The Truck.  He's a handsome bay clone of Mercury Rising--the two could literally make a matched pair.  He has a lovely build and seems to have an equally lovely personality.

Echo raced lightly, starting only in two races and earning just over $200.  It would seem that his lack of inspiration on the racetrack will translate into a perfect level of athleticism for a horse seeking a career as friend and performance partner in a field outside of racing.

He too will have a few days to settle in while we wait on shoes, and then we'll begin his retraining.  He retired from the track in March of 2011, so has already had plenty of time to settle and enjoy life as a civilian.
