Liver Chestnut Gelding
Appx. 7 years old

Flash belongs to one of my students and her mother.  He is a wonderful little man (we think he's a pony but don't have an "official" measurement yet).  He has beautiful gaits and is a willing worker.

In his past life, Flash worked as a teaser stallion.  Because of this, he carries a lot of baggage when at liberty around other horses.  He does well turned out with passive geldings or exclusively with mares.  He exhibits stallion behaviors when mares are in heat and will challenge aggressive geldings when mares are involved.  He seems to understand that pasture equals permission to talk to mares--in the barn and when under saddle he minds his business and ignores them. 

Flash is looking for a home who is willing to work with his quirks and can appreciate him as an individual.  He has a wonderful loving personality.  He loves to snuggle and is a treat lover of the highest order.  He is regularly ridden by his nine year old owner, and though green, is kind to her, never doing anything ugly when he has a green horse moment and forgets to steer (his biggest vice). 

Flash was handled with a very heavy hand in his past and is difficult to bridle--he has probably had extensive ear twitching because his phobia stems from slipping a crown piece behind his ears and is magnified when he throws his head and the bit accidently hits his teeth.  He works beautifully in a bitless bridle, and has regained a lot of trust in people through his mother's patient handling.  He is beautifully behaved for the farrier and vet, and though sometimes difficult to catch, is never hard to handle.

We invite all offers on this very special little horse.  He has a heart the size of Texas and has spent way too  much of his life being horribly misunderstood.  A trail riding home would probably be best, though in the hands of a professional, he has much to offer as a hunter under saddle for a quiet and compassionate young rider.
