We've been so busy that making it onto the website for updates has seemed impossible! To all of you who follow our "kids," my apologies! Seven horses have found new homes over the last two months--it's been a crazy two months! Things at A Pinch of Luck are going well. We're proud to have a full barn, but it makes sneaking in "just one more" a bit tricky!
I took my first day trip to New York two weeks ago and brought back three great geldings. Dan and John has already found a home. The other two, My Big Treasure and Chosen Aptitude, will probably be residents at the farm for awhile. Treasure has picked one of my students as his new person, and hopefully we'll make that work out. Merlin (Chosen Aptitude) will hopefully fill the shoes of one of my lesson horses who is on an extended vacation for a soft tissue injury. Fingers crossed for both boys--either way, keep your eye out for photos and updates!
Another trip to New York is tentatively planned for the middle of July!
Lots of New Homes!
Money from Home is on her way to a new career as a hunter. She had a rocky ride home that resulted in some stitches to her forehead, but is recovering well, and has no doubt started working under saddle with her new mom.
Ireland's Princess has found a new home with a woman who lost a horse of 26 years. She's going to spend some time growing up and finding out what it is to be a horse!
Because a Bonnie has gone to a friend of ours who boards with us at A Pinch of Luck. She's become a resident in our back pasture and is now best friends with Bridget's Sequel. Her new mom is thrilled to be a horse owner again--a dream she wasn't sure would ever come true!
Bill's Fine Dancer is also staying with us at A Pinch of Luck. Her new mom has given her the rather fitting nickname of "Boo Boo" because of her amazing ability to get herself in trouble. We're hoping that she'll finally settle down and figure out that life really can be a bowl of cherries!
Dan and John is off to his new mom's farm to play polo. He joined Our Grey Girl there last week, and we can't wait to hear about his progress. Our Grey Girl, whose new name is TicTac has already passed several polo rites of passage including learning to play Keep Away and having her mane roached. What a beautiful girl she is! We can't wait to see Dan with his crew cut!
Key Trip is living in North Georgia near her new family's home, and is enjoying retirement. She was a successful racer who unfortunately retired with a knee that will keep her from too much under saddle activity. She's made friends with her herdmates and enjoys daily visits from her new people.
Western Buff is our biggest traveller--she had a rough journey to her new home in Missouri, and is doing better under the loving care of her new family. We're keeping in touch and receiving regular updates as she recovers from an accident in the trailer about eighty miles from her new farm.
