Key Strategy

Key Strategy
2006 Gray Gelding

Key came to us from our friends Stacy and Ron, and was with us for only a few weeks before he found his new mom in Katie.  Key came with Stacy's famous instructions--this time telling us that riding him required blinkers as he had, to her knowledge, NEVER been ridden without them.  Good thing for us we had a pair burried in a tack trunk.

When Katie came to try him out, we'd only been on him once (and we'd pulled off the blinkers "just to see"--and he'd nearly had a heart attack at first, but then he was fine...)  We didn't take the blinkers off when Katie rode him--but we did send them with him when he went to his new home.

Katie is one fantastic young rider, and well on her way to becoming a pretty good trainer, too.  Key now works without blinkers, and though we're still trying to convince him that "Real Men Wear Pink" (Katie has a whole pink ensemble just for him), he's a great worker and a great partner for her.
