Feivel went on his first trail ride last Friday. He started out a little nervous, but within about ten minutes, he'd figured out the game and was 100% up and ready for anything. He travelled to Kennesaw National Battlefield with four other horses, rode as the "monkey in the middle" of Athena's wonderful Horse Jitney rig, and was a star by the end of the ride. Bridges? No trouble! Water? No trouble! Traffic? Not a second glance! Riding in the dark in the deep, scary woods? Bring on the Boogeyman! Feivel had it all figured out and he had a blast!
This game young gelding is just too much fun! April adores him, loves his easy and comfortable gaits, and regularly comments on how much he reminds her of one of her favorite retirees ever, Gebb's Flag. Feivel may not be huge, but he's a big guy nonetheless. Easy and uncomplicated, he's ready for anything and is just waiting for his own special person to come along and show him the world!

We've restarted Feivel under saddle and could not be happier with his work ethic and trainability! He's adorable, and very willing. Even in a crowded ring, he willingly does as asked and is content to truck along, commotion and all!!
We've done a few exercises over ground poles, crossrails and low verticals, and he's great with these, too! He's happy to trot in and trot or canter out. Feivel is most certainly a young rider's horse in the making. He's sweet and easy on the ground, equally sweet and easy under saddle.
Feivel stood like a perfect gentleman for his new shoes and loves the attention that comes with being groomed and doted on. He's very much like the other Mayakovsky children who have come through A Pinch of Luck--smart, willing, and talented.
Please visit Feivel's youtube videos to see him work on the flat and over a few little fences! This guy is adorable, and most definitely still growing... Don't let his "small" size fool you--he's a BIG little guy, and soon will be a big big guy!!

Feivel is here! He's a late baby, born in May of 2008, so is just six months into his third year. He's going to be a good sized boy when he's all grown up, and what a looker he already is.
Feivel is sweet and easy to handle, and is enjoying his first days of turnout with our yearling, Crispin. They get along famously, and really enjoy each other's company.
We plan on putting Feivel in work soon, but are giving him time to relax and settle in first. He'll get his first pair of non-racing shoes early next week!
Stay tuned for updates!
