Hollie has settled in well with us at A Pinch of Luck and is now working regularly under saddle. Though still green, her training is progressing nicely, and her good work ethic and willing attitude continue to impress us.
We filmed a recent ride and have created a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVo7vvL0E08 to show where she is in training. The video was filmed in the midst of several riders on advanced horses schooling over two and three foot fences in preparation for a horse show--it was Hollie's first time working in company and she did great!
Hollie is ready to go in any direction, be it as a riding horse or once again to a home as a broodmare. She's easy to be around, gets along well with her pasture mates, and is always kind. She has no vices and no soundness issues.

Hollie was bred and trained for racing by Keith Asmussen, brother to famed trainer Steve Asmussen. She's a Texas-bred, a first for us at A Pinch of Luck, and is a beautiful, strapping mare with solid bone and a beautiful way of going.
She got her gate card and a tattoo at the track, but never ran a race. Her first real career was that of broodmare, where she produced two fillies and a colt (who was exported to Germany, no less) before the farm she was owned by dispersed and she found herself in Georgia looking for yet another new home.
Hollie is sweet and easy to work around on the ground, and shows a willing, albeit green, outlook under saddle. She never questioned April for a second while she was being ridden, but showed us quickly that whatever training she had as a racer has long since left her memory--there is not an ounce of "go-faster" in this big girl. No wonder she never started!!
