Five Year Old
16.0 Hand Mare

Mattie is a five year old mare who raced through August of last year.  She comes to us from the FLTAP program where she had been a resident since shortly after her last race.  She raced at two of New York's best tracks--Belmont and Aqueduct--before filtering down to Fingerlakes.  She raced only eight times and did break her maiden before retiring.

Mattie is very sweet and enjoys attention.  She likes to be groomed and is easy to work around.  Mattie is a recreational cribber who enjoys cribbing at feeding time best.  Her habit is well controlled with a properly fitted cribbing collar.

Mattie retired sound with clean legs.  She has nice feet and came to us barefoot but will get a new pair of shoes before she starts work.  Though we would prefer to keep her barefoot, the winter's cold has turned our arena rock hard--too much to ask any horse to work on without shoes or boots.

She, Demi, and Crash all arrived during our icey weekend and will be given a week or two to settle in before starting under saddle.  Call for pre-training pricing!
