My Mom's Sugar Halo

SOLD!
My Mom's Sugar Halo
15.2 Hand Bay Gelding
Foal of 2006

My Mom's Sugar Halo has finished on the board in seven of fifteen starts, and his connections feel that it's time to retire this teddy bear-cute little gelding to his next career.

He is said to be kind and a people-pleaser who is truly in no hurry to go anywhere (how he won his races we'll just wonder about).  Everyone says that he is a first horse in the making, and should very quickly forget his racing days.  Pony club?  Trails?  He's shown that he has a mind suited to versatility.

Halo has clean legs, and like Foothill, has been meticulously cared for by his racing family.

Stay tuned for more and better pictures and a lot more information about this adorable gelding.

Update October 16, 2010:

Our new little buddy Halo has arrived and is the sense of humor in the bunch.  With his puckish personality and plucky outlook on life, he's been one chuckle after another since he arrived.  No one told him he's little, and he makes sure we all know he's around.

We've been so busy with visitors that Halo still hasn't been ridden, but we're pretty confident that he's the good boy that his racing connections say he is.

Stay tuned for news on this cute little dude.  Oops!  Forgot, he's not little!  Right, Halo?

Update October 23, 2010:

Halo has made it to his new home!  He's gone to our friend Jerry who purchased Mr. Honey last year.  We are so thrilled that this neat little guy!  Jeri is an avid Clinton Anderson supporter who has attended Clinton's week long seminars.  She's used his methods to train Rascal, and is anxious to get started with Halo.  We can't wait for pictures!!!

Update November 20, 2010:

Hey - heres a picture of Rascal & Halo.  Glad to say Halo is finally "back to work" and learning how to be my kind of horse.  It was great to ride with Russ on OUR horses!  I put him on lazybones Rascal while I worked with Halo.
I think Halo is going to be a more willing student than Rascal was - I remember our test of wills trying to get him to canter!!!  Rascal was meant for the trail for sure - he still hates arena work (and so do I, but it is a necessary evil) but is magnificent on the trail!  Glad I didn't let the vet scare me into trading Halo out - the way she talked about him I figured he'd be lame/unsound for months!!!

Have a wonderful holiday!!

Update December 9, 2010:

Hey you, check out this handsome fella in his cool plaid blanket - stylin for sure.  He is certainly a pistol!  He is doing pretty good, and I hope to get him out on the trail soon - just need to give his feet a little more time to grow out.  If you're ever free to hit the trail, just holler.

Rascal and I are always going somewhere!

Hope you're stayin' warm!!!  Take care,
jer
