Shrimp is our first foster kid from Suffolk Downs in Boston, MA. He comes to us through the amazing phenomena known as Seven Degrees of Seperation--through the course of finding horses new homes, I meet many people from all around the country. I network with regular rescues and Throughbred placement and rescue groups, and talk to people who know people I know all the time. I received an email about Fuzzy from a girl named Melissa a few weeks back, and a week later got another email from her that had been sent to what seemed to be every horse person she knew about several horses who where desperately needing homes since the meet at the track had ended.
One thing led to another, and the result is obvious! Shrimp is here! We found out after he arrived that he enjoys the occasional round of recreational cribbing which prompted us to put him in a collar which does stop it. Though I consider him a confirmed cribber, he does so only occassionally during the day, and may stop entirely once his system settles and he's on a better diet with less stress.
Shrimp's gaits are BEAUTIFUL. He has a very sweet personality and doesn't seem to have a mean bone in his body. He's an adorable horse in a small package and will be lots of fun for a skilled young rider or small adult to bring along.
