16 Hand Bay Filly
Foal of 2007

Please pardon Minnie for her not-so-feminine Jockey Club handle.  She was dubbed Minnie by Bethany at the farm, and we think it's a perfect fit for this ultra-feminine filly.  She has beautiful manners to match her pretty body.

Minnie's been with us for just over a week, and has settled in beautifully.  She's quiet coming in and going out to the field, and has fit right in with her new herd.

She is very easy to handle and has already demonstrated a generous and willing personality.  We anticipate starting her under saddle by the end of the first week in October.  Based on what we see on the ground, she is going to be an ideal mount and companion for a young rider or a re-beginner adult with not much work.  She's also an athlete--she has, on several occassions, jumped the dirt pile that will someday fill in a space under a water trough!

Update October 16, 2010:

Minnie is WONDERFUL under saddle!  She is suited for just about anything, and with her perky, people pleaser personality, she's going to make a wonderful partner to her new person.  Minne walks, trots, and canters happily in the ring, and as a bonus, shows a natural lead change!  She's eager to please and willing to do anything.  We've trotted her over a low cavaletti and some ground poles, and she was very sensible while learning this new task.  She jumped the cavaletti with tight knees, and then loped out like a seasoned horse.

Minnie has already been ridden by several students, and has even given an impromptu lesson to a friend who usually rides western (she took care of her, and on several occassions, even helped her rider re-balance as she got used to riding in a saddle much different from her usual!).

Update October 23, 2010:

Minnie will be leaving for her new home in Tennessee this week!  We are thrilled to have finally found a filly for Sydney, who has been watching horses come and go on our site for a while now.  She is excited about Minnie's prospects as a hunter show horse, and hopes to be back to the farm to find another new prospect soon.
