Spotty will soon be heading west to join his new mom Trisha as a trail and pleasure companion. She found the A Pinch of Luck website, got in touch, and very quickly decided that Spotty must have come down just for her.
This lovely gelding is a joy to ride, loves to work, and is a total people pleaser. We can't wait for updates on this fun pair after he settles into his new home.

Spotty has settled in like he's lived with us all of his life--once he determined that food comes regularly and figured out where his stall is, there were no further questions... Two hots and a cot, and Spotty considered it all good.
He and Mercury have become fast friends and enjoy their daily turnout. There has been little bickering between the newbies and the established group, and everyone has become friendly out in gelding land.
Spotty will have a new pair of shoes some time in the coming week, and should soon be ready to go to work. We're excited to see what he already knows--this jack of all trades should be suitable for anything!

Spotty is just the cutest thing. He comes to us from our friend Julie who runs the Fingerlakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program. He spent some time in their program, but left it when she needed a pony horse last spring. He's been off the track for well over a year, and has enjoyed a varied let-down time--he modeled at FLTAP, spent some time at her farm, and has most recently ponied her horses in the morning. That all said, winter is coming, her horses are finishing up for the season, and Spotty is ready to retire again... this time totally away from the track in Georgia!
This cute gelding is covered from head to toe in what are called "Bend Or" spots... they're dark liver spots that just keep on coming (he even has them on his ears!!). Spotty is attractively put together and is well balanced. He's blessed with four really nice feet, a nice mind, and the kindest of eyes. He's already had a lot of mileage post racing, and very shortly should be well suited for a rider of any level--novice through more advanced.
Stay tuned for updates on Spotty after his arrival this week!
