April is in love again!  She met Ellen the day after she arrived from Florida, took one look, said, "Oooooooo..." and I knew it was all over.  April has such a thing for big, beautiful mares, and Ellen is all of that and a bag of chips.

This lovely mare has been off the track for almost a year, and has had plenty of time to settle into being a civilian.  She's kind and easy to work around, and has been under saddle twice since joining us.  She has a lovely way of going and though green, is willing to work and is a good student.

Ellen has had her feet done (she was perfect!), cross ties, single ties, and stands quietly to be clipped.  She's easy to handle and fun to work with--she really seems to appreciate being doted on by her "staff."

Another of our new "mystery horses" who will be on the way up from Florida in the coming week.  We're told she's six, well made, and ready for someone to love her.  She left the track, found a home in the Carolinas where her new person forgot that horses (especially Thoroughbreds) need to be fed, and fortunately made her way back to Florida before starving to death.

She's in better condition now than when she was returned to her former owner, but still has a way to go.  Plain bay with a star on her face, she's said to be a beauty!  We can't wait to see her in person and to share her pictures with you.
