"Simple is Best"
16 Hand Dark Bay Gelding
Foal of 2005
SOLD!!! Congratulations Jenny!!
Ben is a five year old unregistered Thoroughbred gelding. We gave him the name of Simple is Best because of his plain clothes appearance. He is a shy young gelding who is looking for a loving person to take him in.
He was rescued from "The Truck" about a month ago, and has spent his time with us out in the field and in a smaller paddock enjoying regular meals, grass, and free choice hay. While he's been with us, we've worked him under saddle twice, and have determined that he has little to no training beyond wearing a saddle and bridle. Though not ugly, he's very green, and will be sold as a prospect at this time--we'd love to show him to you at liberty or on the lunge!
Ben has clean legs and fantastic feet. He's barefoot and was very well behaved for his trim. He's good about bathing and grooming, and enjoyed a snooze while he was being braided for his photo shoot.
Ben's price covers his "bail-out" from the truck. We felt he was far too nice to risk "going to kill" and wanted to give him a chance at a real life with a real home to love him.

Ben moved to Athens with his new mom Jenny last Saturday. She's working on restarting his training, and sent us this awesome email to let us know how he's doing:
Hey Heather!
Update on Ben - I RODE HIM TODAY! I have been lunging him with tack on for the past couple days and he has been doing wonderful so today I just hopped on and rode him in the arena. He walked and trotted for me and stopped on a dime. He did so good. You can tell he use to race though because he only liked going counter-clockwise around the arena. He would get frustrated when I asked him to go the other direction but he always did what I asked. He loves the barn and has made friends with all the horses and people - they adore him. He doesn't run away from me in the pasture and he has great ground manners. He is the best horse I have ever owned and I love him so much! I am so so so thankful that you rescued him off the truck - it was meant to be!
