Congratulations to Ashley on the addition of Crimson to her family!  This sweet boy has been nicknamed "Ferdinand the Bull" because he is never in a hurry to go anywhere.  Ashley is enjoying him immensely and is very much in love!!  We're thrilled at this happy new pair and are hopeful that we can someday add a dapple grey to their family as well!

Though his name alludes greatness (as does his pedigree--he's by the famous Giant's Causeway, son of the mare Mariah's Storm upon whom the movie Dreamer was loosely based), Crimson failed to do anything to justify the $310,000 that was spent to purchase him as a yearling at the September 2007 Keeneland Yearling Sale.  He was a Kentucky Derby nominee early in 2009, but in seven starts, earned just over $18,000.  He must have been a sad diappointment to his connections, especially his trainer Nick Zito.

Crimson is the poster child for all of racing's dreams, and the poster child, too, for how so many, many of them fall short.  Crimson came to us off "The Truck," one of the finest bluebloods of his crop, after a career on the racetrack that was outdone by many of even the lowliest claimers.

This striking chestnut is blessed with all of his sire's class and beauty, and a nice brain to back up his pretty face.  He has three nice gaits, a willing attitude, and a great work ethic.  Crimson is suited to riders of all levels--he's quiet enough for even the most reserved young rider and fancy enough for any adult.

Crimson is schooling well at all three gaits and will be venturing out on the trail over the next few weeks.
